Summer is fast approaching and the season starts in 3 or so weeks with a
friendly at Heworth. Ground Days are planned for 6 and 7 April, and, possibly,
13 and 14 April. There is a lot to do so the more that turn up the easier it
will be. Jobs are planned for every skill level. Some simply require only brute
force. We are planning to be better organised this year and have made a
preliminary list of things we want to do. At the moment this stands at pavilion

cups, install new hot water supply to sink; away dressing room – fit water pump
to electric showers, remove urinal from away shower area, retile, paint
everywhere; upstairs fit mirror, fix broken socket, sterllise; outside loo ease
door, clean; umpires’ rooms – fit shelf above coat hooks, make box to hold
stumps, tidy and paint; square –  roll, scarify and cut; ground – clean sight
screens, fit and service covers, level holes in net area, make n
ets fit for purpose, repair carpets, remove moss from carpets; garage – get rid
of redundant equipment, tidy, repair wall damaged by trainee groundsman.
Marerials, tea and coffee we will get but please bring tools, paint brushes,
paint rollers and poles, dust sheets, rubber gloves, buckets, loo cleaner. If
you have any white, magnolia, or other light colour emulsion that you will not
use bring these as well.
Please get down for a few hours. We start at 10 am each day – even if the
weather is bad.

New Season – Availability

With the new season fast approaching (just 5 weeks!!!) the usual plea begins…..

Firstly there is only a few weeks of indoor nets left to impress the captians with your skills. It is always nice to see faces both old and new. Sunday 7-8.30. Please note there will be no nets on Easter Sunday.

Secondly “AVAILABILITY” Please could everybody make an extra effort to visit the website and tick their availability, at least for the first few weeks, so we have a smooth start to the new season. We have a friendly vs Heworth 20th April.

Pre Season News

BPCC continued the trend of putting silverware in the cabinet when the indoor league side, under Andy Fergusons leadership, romped home to the league two title and were runners up in the cup competition. Well done lads.

The indoor league awards evening is on the 19th March at Acomb CC at 8.00pm when BP will receive their league prizes Please contact Andy if you want to go.

There is only about 6 weeks to the 1st league match. So those that have stopped going and those that have never got round to going – it would be good to see you at the nets held at Manor School each Sunday, starting at 7pm

Pre Season News Update

Pre-Season news

The 2013 season will start with a friendly at Heworth on 20th April, probably starting at 1pm.

The square at BP has had its’ first cut and by all accounts the mower pushed on the field and off again with getting bogged down. The square looks good and remarkably dry considering the floods that engulfed the field late last year.
