Bad Weekend!

Another disappointing day with both teams failing to pick up any win points.. The firsts went down by 15 runs at Driffield in a high scoring game whilst the seconds were barely competitive against a very strong Hemiingbrough first team. Hemingborough amassed 231 for 8 with BP dropping 9, yes 9 catches. In response BP could not cope with the inswing of their opening bowler as he scythed through the team, Only Jon Anderson with 23 made any notable impression. Not a good weekend.

BPCC Famous Race Night Returns

Subject: Bolton Percy Cricket club Race Night 2014

Good Morning all,

I hope everyone is well.

Well its that time of year again where we dust off our top hat and tails (no, no one’s getting married) but we are holding a race night at Bolton Percy Cricket Ground on Saturday the 09 August 2014 with starters orders being about 8 pm. So far we have three races that have been sponsored which include the Crown Inn Diamond jubilee Stakes, the first team 5 furlong dash and the 2nd eleven 3 mile steeple chase. To make this a successful and enjoyable night we need 8+ races to be sponsored. It is just 10 pounds to sponsor a race, all the race sponsor has to do then is get 8 jockeys and 8 owners at £3’s each and return the filled out sheet and £58’s to me (I can come collect this if needed). The racing will take place and a prize of £10’s will then go to the winning owner and Jockey in each race. It is a great chance for the senior players, junior players and parents as well as social members to help raise some money and put something back into the club. If there are any companies that wish to sponsor a race then there will be programs on the night that will include all names that have taken the time to do this. Your help will be very much appreciated.

I have attached a sponsor form [ https://db.tt/AbzQ7k1p ] so if it is possible for you to sponsor a race please contact me by reply or call me on 07824465809. The more races the more funds.

Secondly it would be great to see as many people down as possible on the night to support the event and maybe even win a few pounds off Bruiser the bookie. The evening will start at approximately 8pm there will be an interval with a supper provided at a small cost as well as a raffle draw. This night has been a great success in the past and with the new club house as the venue hopefully will be again. Should you require any more information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks in advance for your help

BP seconds in comfortable win at Drax

BP seconds completed a comfortable win at Drax to keep them in the mix for league honours. Drax, batting first, never recovered from losing a wicket first ball and limped to 83 all out off 28.5 overs. Jon Anderson worked hard for his 4 for 18 off 12, James Rossington put in a good spell and finished with 2 for 32 off 10.5 overs but it was Jonny Pollick who weaved the magic taking 4 for 5 off 3 overs to wrap the innings up. BP have at times struggled to chase down scores this year but there was to be no mistake this time. Captain Ed Noble continued his good form as he and Ferguson added a rapid 58 for the first wicket before Ed holed out to mid on. Ferguson managed to start finding a bit of form and with Pete Atkinson saw the team home, Ferguson 27 n.o. and Peter 8 no. 30 much needed points. With no correspondent at the first eleven game today would someone who was there put a note up of the match on Facebook please?
